Today, it was my last day at school.


In the morning, we played games and wrote letters to our host family and buddy.



We had a pizza party at lunchtime.

There was a lot of pizza and many drinks. I liked the pepperoni pizza.



Also, we were given an NCC uniform. Some people wore the NCC uniform and took pictures. In the afternoon, I went to my buddy's class.


It was math and P.E. Both were free time, so I played soccer in P.E. class.


After school, we went to the shopping mall. We found the Nintendo Switch 2 at the mall.

We were surprised by that. We bought some snacks to bring back to Japan.


When we came back home, we went into the pool. It was so cold that no one wanted to go in, so we pushed each other into the pool. It was so fun.


For dinner, we ate Australian meat pie. It was really delicious. Also, we got a present from our host mother. I was really happy about that.


It was my last day to play with my host family, so I felt really sad.

So, I connected with my host family on WhatsApp so that we can text each other even after I go back to Japan. I improved my English and had fun in Australia, so I felt that it was really good for me to go on a homestay in Australia.

Today was the last day at NCC.


I ate cereal for breakfast and went to school with my host family and sisters by car. I appreciate my host mother for driving me to school every day until today.


In ESL class, we played some games about songs such as the Australian national anthem and talked about our memories in Australia. Ms. Michelle’s class was very fun. We could learn new things through English. I will miss her. 



Also, after morning tea, we wrote letters to my host family and my buddy. I made a little mistake in grammar, but I hope that they can feel my appreciation.


During lunch, we had a farewell party. I got a gift from NCC and took pictures with Ms. Michelle. I ate pizza with my buddy and friends. It was great, so I ate a lot.


After that, I went to my buddy’s class. I talked about literature with her, so it was very interesting. They were doing a group discussion about techniques in the story they read. For example, there were metaphors and imagery that used sound. I want to try studying literature much harder when I go back to Japan by using the knowledge that I learned in this class.


In Japanese class with my buddy, we ate cheesecake that her classmate made. Then, I gave a letter to her. We both like the same characters, so I want to see her again someday.


On the way home from school, I went to the supermarket and bought some food for today’s dinner. After the shopping, we went back home with Australian snacks and Japanese snacks.


We ate chicken and vegetables for the last dinner. We said see you and thank you to each other. I got a gift from my host mother. There were a lot of Australian snacks. I will eat them while thinking back on Australia when I come back to Japan.


Today was a very fun last day at NCC, even though I had a cold. Tomorrow is the final day of this study abroad. I want to make special memories until the end.

 Last night, I took off from Narita for Brisbane. To be honest, I was a bit anxious when I first decided to go to Australia. But as I got closer, my anxiety turned into anticipation, and by the time I boarded the plane, I was filled with excitement. I was surprised to find a beef bowl served on the plane. When I arrived in Brisbane, an Australian tour guide was waiting for me, which made me feel a little relieved. I realized that I had actually come to Australia. After visiting the observatory overlooking Brisbane and the University of Queensland, we had some free time. I had an acai bowl and gelato there. I was surprised that the prices were higher than in Japan. I also went to a convenience store and bought some snacks recommended by the clerk. They were very tasty. Then I met my host family.  Today I interviewed my classmates about yesterday during the English lesson in the morning. They all seemed to enjoy yesterday and said there was nothing they didn't like. We also listened to the clues, and we did the guesswork about which building on the distributed map it was.  After that, at morning tea time, I finally got to meet my buddy, who had been absent until now. I was surprised that his friends were the ones we gave the presentation to, and I had a fun time chatting with them.  In the second half of my English lesson, we had a spelling test of the words from the reading about the Eumundi Markets that we did the day before yesterday. I learned a way of giving directions and did a writing task. Today, I went to school in the morning and attended an ESL class.  The theme of the lesson was Japanese and Australian food.  We also talked in English about what we did over the weekend and played a game where we each said something we bought while shopping and continued in turn.  I could tell that everyone had an enjoyable weekend, and I felt that we spoke up more than last week and were making progress. During the lesson, I also tried speaking with the teacher.  Sometimes my pronunciation did not come across well, but when I was understood, I was very happy and it motivated me to try harder. We also decorated cookies with icing and made koala faces using marshmallows, chocolate, and gummies.  Everyone’s mouths turned blue from the icing, which was very funny, and the cookies were delicious too.
