 Today was my last day of school this week.


In the ESL class, we learned about the Aboriginal people of Australia. I didn’t know much about them before, so it was good to learn many things about their history and culture.


After the break, we made coasters by drawing Australian symbols with dots. The symbols had unique designs and looked interesting. I made my coaster with the “bush berry” symbol as the main design.







During lunch time, my buddy let me listen to music with her headphones. My buddy’s friend told me that she likes songs by YOASOBI, so we talked about it and had a fun conversation.


After school, I sat around a fire in a neighbor’s garden. It was cold at night in Brisbane, so the fire made me feel very warm. I could also see many stars in the sky, and it was very beautiful.


Tomorrow, I will go shopping and watch a movie with my host sister and her friend. I am really looking forward to it. I want to buy many souvenirs for myself and my family.

Today, I studied adjectives and adverbs in the morning. It was a little difficult, but I could understand. 





After that, I went to the ground and I ran there. It was so fun, but I wanted to do more exercise.




After lunch time, I met my buddy and went to an art room. In art class, I didn't have anything to do, so I did my homework. Today's last class was Japanese class. I looked at a Japanese textbook. It was very easy for me.


At four o'clock, I went back home. I played with the dog. He was very funny to me, so I laughed all the time. After that, I had afternoon tea. I drank hot Oolong tea which I bought yesterday. It was so good.


Lastly, I watched a movie with my host sister and roommate. It was a funny movie. I relaxed while I watched it. I am going to go to the Gold Coast with my host family and roommate tomorrow, so I relaxed at night.

 Last night, I took off from Narita for Brisbane. To be honest, I was a bit anxious when I first decided to go to Australia. But as I got closer, my anxiety turned into anticipation, and by the time I boarded the plane, I was filled with excitement. I was surprised to find a beef bowl served on the plane. When I arrived in Brisbane, an Australian tour guide was waiting for me, which made me feel a little relieved. I realized that I had actually come to Australia. After visiting the observatory overlooking Brisbane and the University of Queensland, we had some free time. I had an acai bowl and gelato there. I was surprised that the prices were higher than in Japan. I also went to a convenience store and bought some snacks recommended by the clerk. They were very tasty. Then I met my host family.  Today I interviewed my classmates about yesterday during the English lesson in the morning. They all seemed to enjoy yesterday and said there was nothing they didn't like. We also listened to the clues, and we did the guesswork about which building on the distributed map it was.  After that, at morning tea time, I finally got to meet my buddy, who had been absent until now. I was surprised that his friends were the ones we gave the presentation to, and I had a fun time chatting with them.  In the second half of my English lesson, we had a spelling test of the words from the reading about the Eumundi Markets that we did the day before yesterday. I learned a way of giving directions and did a writing task. Today, I went to school in the morning and attended an ESL class.  The theme of the lesson was Japanese and Australian food.  We also talked in English about what we did over the weekend and played a game where we each said something we bought while shopping and continued in turn.  I could tell that everyone had an enjoyable weekend, and I felt that we spoke up more than last week and were making progress. During the lesson, I also tried speaking with the teacher.  Sometimes my pronunciation did not come across well, but when I was understood, I was very happy and it motivated me to try harder. We also decorated cookies with icing and made koala faces using marshmallows, chocolate, and gummies.  Everyone’s mouths turned blue from the icing, which was very funny, and the cookies were delicious too.
